Reduce Stress with Guided Meditations
Monday, May 3rd, 2010I listen to a guided meditation CD everyday. It helps me to focus on things that are important to me. I used to feel a lot of stress before I started on the path of meditation.
Though I knew a lot about the effects of mind over body, I couldn’t help it, that’s when I discovered about this type of meditation.
Guided meditation can be done with a help of a mentor or by listening to a recorded CD.
If you have enough time by all means practice guided meditation with a mentor.
A mentor or guru is aware of some bumps that you may encounter on the road of mediation and can help your mind travel seamlessly to higher consciousness.
Whether you decide to lead a spiritual life or not listening to a guided meditation CD can reduce the stress you experience everyday.
When we get stressed, our breathing rate shoots up and we continue to take shallow breaths. This is very bad if done on a continual basis.
By using guided meditation you will have more awareness on how you breathe and how you think.
Being aware of yourself is the first step to reduce stress. If you don’t know if you are stressed out or not, how do you think you can take steps to reduce it?
Living a ’stress-free life’ is a dream for many people. But, we cannot go around the world wearing a big smile on our face everyday. There are always things and people that will make us feel frustrated. Tools like guided meditation can significantly reduce the level of stress we experience during that period.
Guided mediation is specifically helpful for people who are new to meditation. Many people complain that they are not able to concentrate while sitting to meditate. A guided meditation overcomes this problem by giving clear instructions to follow so that you don’t have to come up with ways to silence the distractions.
Guided meditation CDs often have some soothing music(without lyrics) playing in the background. It has been proven that listening to soothing music releases some pleasure inducing chemicals in our brains so that’s an added plus of a guided meditation.
